    1991 acura integra
Hi I have another question for you. I have a 1991 Acura Integra with a idling problem. I've check the vacuum lines they were all good and I've also change my idle air control valve three times to make sure that wasn't the problem. I put another engine in the car but the person I bought the car off said it was doing the same thing when he had it.

. Ensure the ignition system is in great shape; i.e. relatively new NGK spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, rotor, Ignition Control Module, and coil. ICMs cause a lot of problems on Honda/Acuras. I recommend replacing them every 120,000 miles or 10 years, whichever comes first. The same goes for coils. MAP-Barro Sensors and Engine Coolant Temperature Sensors should also be checked. When the engine coolant temperature is low, the IAC Valve is opened to obtain the proper fast idle speed. The amount of bypassed air is thereby controlled in relation to the engine coolant temperature.

    . Check EGR valve.

. Set idle rpm to specs. The approach is likely similar to what's described below:

. Check engine timing with a timing light.

    . Clean throttle body.

    . Use 5W-30 engine oil.

If problem persists, substitute a known-good ECM and recheck.

To fix your idling problem with your 91 acrura integra start the car let it get hot the cooling fan should come on twice then turn it off and unplug the idle air control valve then start the car back up and let it idle then take a flat tip screwdriver and turn the big flat tip screw right above where the intake tube hooks up just turn it until you get the idle you want then turn the car off and take out the back up fuse from the fuse block under the hood take it out for thirty seconds this will reset any trouble codes that are set off in the ecu then put it back in and after you hook the idle air control valve back up then start the car back up and it should be fixed if you have any questions give me a call at 704-682-7333 my name is chris I'll be glad to help you. If that diesn't work you most likely have a blown intake gasket that's what happened to my car so good luck. P.S. the intake gasket isn't but 10.99 at autozone or advance

My first is semi retired with 278,000 miles (purchased with 45000) with very few problems so I bought a seldom used one(showroom shape) 9 months ago with low miles (now 116,000). They both have similar annoying problems living in the Northeast. When the weather drops...
