    Identify this bone please
    Found this bone on a river bed in Kansas an need help identifying it. I'm pretty sure it's a vertebrae of some kind. MySpace

    It is a huge vertebra! I'm thinking neck (cervical) vertebra with big muscle attachment, suggesting a long robust neck, but I don't know much. (Really)

    You should send your pictures to a vertebrate paleontologist, for example at the University of Kansas paleontology department. A quick Google shows a vertebrate paleontologist there named Larry Martin.

    Of course you can send the pictures anywhere, but since he's close, he might meet with you, look at the bone and show you similar ones. Be respectful of his time and knowledge and you'll get more. If he's dismissive try someone else.
