I wouldn't suggest doing anything until you see your doctor. This could be something serious. You don't want to make it worse.

For now, until you can get to the doctor, I'd buy a wrist brace. They're relatively cheap and can be found in most pharmacies. This will keep your wrist from moving and doing more damage.

An ice pack is also a good idea, after work.

See your doctor and let us know how it goes. :)

You probably need to see your doctor if the pain continues.

It's more than likely either carpal tunnel syndrome or tendinitis of the wrist, but it takes specialized testing to make that determination.

The wrist brace that Altenweg suggested is excellent advice.

Hi all day I have been having shooting pains through my wrist into my hand. It stops me from doing anything, like when I was holding a folder I dropped it because I couldn't take any grip on it. Does anyone know what is causing it and also if it is serious. Thanks
