    Plants play an important role in the water cycle (also called the hydrologic cycle) by a process we call transpiration.

    Transpiration is where the plants take water in through the roots and is released through small pores in the leaves where it can then evaporate.

    Animals also play an important role in that most animals are mostly water.

    Animals help contribute to the water cycle as the water in our bodies is exchanged through evaporation from sweating for example and through breathing, and drinking.
