Ohm value of 91 civic ingnition coil
I have read on several sites including this one that the coil should have a value of .3-.8 ohms or toss it.
I have replacer the igniter and no spark and the coil shows 1.1 ohms.
I have measured 4 different new coilds at 2 auto parts stores and they all show 1.0 ohms?
I connected a standard coil to the leads and get spark.
The ohm reading across that one was .00.
I am pretty sure it is the coil but why are the new ones "out of spec"?

Your meter leads are contributing. You need a 4-terminal ohmmeter or one with a zero control to measure that low accurately.

Even so, you have to subtract the lead resistance when the leads of the meter are shorted together.

Four terminal ohmmeters will have Kelvin clip accessories, where each clip connects to two terminals of the instruments.

To measure that low, you basically have to measure the current through the coil and the voltage across the coil.
