    Why NOT shorten armored cook top cable?
    The GE cook top 4-foot armored cable is much longer than needed.
    Why does it say NOT to cut it?
    I'd rather get it out of the way and also have less wire in the circuit.

    You need to contact the manufacturer to learn why they state the cable cannot be cut.

    Your guess is as good as anyone's.

    Called the GE technical morons. They said it is done "for safety reasons."
    They could not explain why.
    Maybe because dolts like myself could cut through the wire insulation while cutting the metal armor jacket.
    (I have never had a problem cutting the jacket.)
    They said NOT to alter it because it would void the warranty.

Strange question. I opened up my fuse panel box to see which fuse was for what circuits as its really old and although it was labeled, it wasn't completely labeled.
