I Need IXLA Web Easy Program, Help!?
Is there anybody that has ever used or at least is familiar with the IXLA Web Easy Program? It is a program that you can use to build web pages with out having to know how to do HTML or anything like that. It is for complete computer idiots. I hope there is somebody who knows about this type of a program because I am having problems and the IXLA company no longer provides customer support.

My problem happens when I use text and I type columns. This program does not provide an easy way to type columns, you just have to do it the old fashion way. What happens is, that I type and sometimes copy and paste from WordPad, my columns. I get all done and they look perfect. The columns are straight, the entries in the columns are numbered in their proper sequence, etc. Then when I publish the page it comes out totally different. When the program creates the HTML and publishes the page, it causes some of the columns to be jigjag and often times it will change the numbering on the items in the columns and renumber them, i.e.. what said 1, 2, 3, 4, 5; may now say, 1,2,3, 2 or something. Sometimes if the items in the column are numbered and then I vary and say put 1, 2, 3, A, 4, 5; Then the program puts a space between the numbered items and the one that is different, even though I didn't tell it to myself.

Plus I have a 2nd question. Is there a way to put a counter on a web page when using a program like this?

I know this is a long question but I hope there is somebody here that may be able to shed some light on my problems. Thanks in advance to anybody who can help.

Can you post an example. What I think is going on is you are trying to make colums in a way like a word processor. HTML doesn't work this way. What you would need to do is create HTML Tables, I can help with tables but I would start here http://www.htmlgoodies.com/tutors/tbl.html. They have excellent help with HTML.
I have never used IXLA but sooner or later you will have to work with the HTML code itself. Its not that bad, pretty easy really it just takes some time.
http://www.google.com/search?num=100...hosted+counter There are many free ways to put a counter on your website. It is usually a small piece of code that you put into your website and it will refer itself to a small program, usually on your web server, but it could be on another companies web server, like the ones in the link above. Let me know if you need more help.

There are a lot of WYSIWYG editors out there. Have you considered using FP express: http://intgrunits.olivet.edu/other.htm - it is still out there & free. There are some others as well, maybe www.evrsoft.com - First Page 2000 is another good one

I take it you probably do not have your own domain? If not - go to www.bravenet.com to look at the counters they have. They are remotely hosted which is more than likely what you need. And they are easy to install. They give you the HTML coding.

    You can see an example of my problem here;

    http://www.sisqtel.net/~deadwood/madmac_report_3002.htm

The column's on the right are off.  In the column labeled , Top 10 GNL Wrestlers, the program put a space in between item #8 and the item that says tie.  Then, in the column that is labeled, Top 5 GNL six-man teams, # 3 & 4 are out of line, which appears to have caused #5 to be labeled #3.  All things that appeared to be normal until the program built the html.

Yeah, I used Word Pad to create the columns and then cut and pasted them into the ixla document.  Once in the Ixla program, the item can then be dragged to any area of the web page you want it.  It all seems so simple, but is turning out to not be so simple.

If I can remember how to find the html files and open them, I could probably fix the problem that why.  I have a feeling I will have to do this to instal a counter as well.

By the way, this website is for a Play By Mail wrestling game.  Kind of like an Efed but very addictive and more fun.  If you like wrestling of course.

Any how, thanks for the help.

    Hello,

You should be able to get assistance with this issue from Avanquest's support. They are the makers of the Web Easy program. You can contact them at http://cafe.softcity.com/avanquest/support. Also, if you are interested in hosting a website created with your Web Easy software, you should check out www.iEasySite.com.

    Have a good one!

    Kevin
