    Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week
"Our event is actually a defense of Muslims," Horowitz stated. "The Islamofascists have killed 200,000 moderate Muslims in Algeria - they're killing, slaughtering moderate Muslims in the Sudan and Afghanistan," so left-wing opponents "cooked up this lame ad."

However, Ibrahim Hooper, communications director for the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), told Cybercast News Service that the Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week "is a campaign of anti-Muslim smears to promote Islamophobia and hostility toward the faith of Islam and Muslims."

What’s with the Hooper, is he right?

The article I read this morning indicated that the posters were fake, and were probably the work of two or three individuals.

A major theme of the Week will be the oppression of women in Islam.

One of the feature pictures shows the execution of Afghan women in the national soccer stadium by the Taliban.

I think in this blame Bush first era ,a teach in effort to expose the student body to the true nature of the threat of radical Jihadistan would be beneficial . Frankly ;CAIR should support such efforts that would separate what they call true Islam from the radical political ideology that Bin Laden ;the Taliban and the Mahdi-hatter espose.

I agree and can’t understand why CAIR sees it as being anti-Islam.

Any time the word "Islamofascism" or "terrorism" is used, CAIR automatically goes into protest mode. They automatically assume that anyone who is against Islamofascism and terrorism must automatically be prejudiced against all Muslims. Even if they happen to be Muslim.

The fact that Muslims will be participating in the Islamofascism Awareness Week as speakers and supporters doesn't mean anything to CAIR. CAIR doesn't really care about truth. They have an agenda, and that agenda is to blame the restof the world for the problems in the Muslim community. It isn't the fault of the terrorists that they commit terrorists acts... it's the hatred of Muslims by everyone else that is at fault. It isn't the fault of Islamic dictators that their people are being tortured, murdered, raped, starved, etc... it's the fault of the rest of the world for not bowing down to Islam and simply accepting the word of Mohammed. If we would just bow down, there would be no torture, no terrorism, no tyranny. THAT is the agenda of CAIR.

If CAIR really gave a damn about Muslims, they would join in the Islamofascism Awareness Week and promote moderate thought within the Muslim community. They would get involved in bringing their voices of peace to the forfront of Muslim leadership instead of leaving leadership in the hands of despots. They would use this event as a way to get people to know the difference between Islam and Islamofascism.

So yeah, I think Hooper is way off base. And an idiot as well. Among other things.

I had not really taken a look a CAIR before; in lieu of what you said I did a bit of a search and found this:
CAIR is a "terrorist front organization that is partially funded by terrorists;" CAIR is an "organization founded by Hamas supporters which seeks to overthrow the constitutional government in the U.S.;" and, "Why oppose CAIR? CAIR has proven links to, and was founded by, Islamic terrorists ... CAIR is here to make radical Islam the dominant religion in the U.S. ... In addition, CAIR receives direct funding from Islamic terrorist-supporting countries."

    DC, just a minor point.

I would not necessarily call CAIR a terrorist organization any more than I would call Al Jezeera TV a terrorist organization. It's not. However, it is an organization that is funded by terrorist money (as is Al Jezeera) and is a popaganda tool used by terrorists when it suits their needs (again, just like Al Jezeera). CAIR does not actually participate in terrorism, but it acts as a PR group and civil-law intimidation squad for terrorist groups.

Again we have a bit of a different view.

We now find ourselves fighting a new enemy. An enemy that mocks us as they hide behind our Constitution; an enemy, entrenched and protected by a phalanx of attorneys and sycophants, ready
To pounce at the first sign of our weakness; an enemy that demands that the police power of the state defend their “rights”, but would deny these same rights to other Americans; an enemy that accepts funding and support from foreign countries that support terrorists... We don't listen to the ranting of Osama Bin Laden, why must we listen to the provocative, insulting statements of Mr. Nihad Awad?
“I support Hamas!”,. indeed you do, Mr. Awad and "thank you" for reminding us...
