    Legal Fee tax deduction
I went through a divorce in 2005. I spent about $10,000. The process covered everything from estate, tax issues, custody, and child support. What if any portion of this could be tax deductible?

    GoodMama:

Sorry, none of the expenses are deductible.

The only time personal legal fees are deductible is when you receive an award which is deductible

    OR

When the legal fees are of a nature to defend activities which produced taxable income.
