    Could anyone advice me which software to use for downloading a video from a camcorder using A/V cables?

    Found some info below, see if any of it may apply in your situation

    You have to buy a Firewire cable (IEEE 1394) to link it to a computer, it cost about $30, Open Windows Movie Maker, put your camcorder in play option, then the computer will detect it.
    In Windows Movie Maker clik on capture video and start to downloading
    Windows Movie Maker: Download video from your camera to your computer

    If above does not help, what model camcorder?
