Jersey city - need a car or use public transport
I am moving to the Jersey city area; somewhere in an area bounded to the south by the New Jersey city university, to the north by Hoboken, to the East by Journal Square, and to the West by Newport.

My question is: Do I need a car if I live in the Jersey city area mentioned above? I usually go to NYC for work on weekdays, and do some grocery shopping on weekends. Is the public transport there good enough to support my needs, or will I need a car? If I need a car, I hope you will go on to help me explore parking options.
