    Bumper towing ball
I have a Chev Van, on the real bumper (step type of bumper) there on the black rubber, it said this bumper not designed for towing. ( or something very simular) but it has a hole right there for a towing ball.

Exactly why would it not tow a small trailer. I step on the bumper, I put ramps on it to load my van I put over 500 pounds on the ramp.
I can even stand on it and jump up and down.

I could understand not putting a 30 foot travel trailer but a small utility trailer to pull my lawnmower I can't understand how it could hurt

I'm with you: Can't hurt. For the life of me I can't imagine why it says not designed for towing yet has the hole in it - unless the hole is in the template and for your model they used a weak gauge of steel.

I'd think that even if that's the case, as long as it's bolted directly to the frame then you should be OK towing a small utility trailer.

Of course the downside is that the only to find out I'm wrong would be to lose a trailer out on the road :(... so I'd call a local dealer on it just to be sure.

I will let you know over the weekend. I have this small trailer, in Atlanta, I left it there at my house when I moved to TN about 3 years ago. So I am going to try and tow it home ( about 200 miles) If I loose the bumper somewhere along the way I guess it is printed on there for some good reason.

But the metal is tough, I had to drill another hole for my ramp set last year and it took a lot of effort to drill it.

So if anyone finds a bumper on interstate 75 this weekend, it most likely is mine

The bumper sounds like it is fine to tow with, just make sure it is bolted
Well to the frame as previously stated.
