What causes balms with wax and olive oil to get those white dots in them over time? Is this mold? Should I toss it?

Perhaps it's an affection thing. If he's noticed the girl getting more, he might be feeling a bit left out.

One moment you're talking about killing it.
The next moment you're defending your love for this pet.
Then you're playing your own devil's advocate on how many animals you have that are taking up...

You could also purchase those deworming tablets and treatments at the vets or available in some supermarkets as well. Probably should treat them every six months I believe.

Oh wow, I'm so sorry to hear about what happened :(
Cancer seems so tricky to catch in time in cats. Ours went in for 5 months with constant visits before they discovered the cancer.

Did you or your family happen to have bought any cat grass ? Or do you witness her eating a lot of grass?
Cat grass makes cats throw up as an aid in troublesome digestion.. and some cats don't seem...

Sounds like it could be an infection..
You could get some pet antibiotics from the vet. They are pretty inexpensive.
But that's assuming it's just an infection.

Oh I've done that too!
Had my sources swapped from two different people who are very similar in ways.

Has there been more than one of these events ?

Agreed with Ryana.
It was a good call to make assign their own territory.
With strays, they are not used to sharing their space. They behave as if they have to draw a boundary every time.
