Scott person, I'm glad you agree with the Texas Family Code. Yes, termination of parental rights -- voluntary termination is possible in Texas and divestment (duties for child support) is possible...
-
You are welcome. God Bless you.
Mary

I kindly disagree with your response. It is not inaccurate.
Your generalization, again, "No court is going to grant relinquishment of parental rights just to let the parent out of paying child...
-
You are taking my answer completely out of context. All the noted issues need to be taken altogether. Your arguments did not note exceptions until I made the Texas argument to you. In several past...
-
Dearest Kathy,
You will be fine.
Why don't you try to establish you visitation for the son who is not in the military? Surely you have visitation rights even if you are not the primary...
-
And we have gone over this before, your advice regarding child support termination is NOT accurate.
-
-
Tawny, your response is awesome. Lol. Chuckle, chuckle.
Yes. Okay. Play sweet.
Take care.

What? First you insult me on post #24, I don't even have to substantiate my answer to you, then I do, then you begin your circular reasoning again.
Your arguments regarding VOLUNTARY TERMINATION...
-
Your interpretation of termination of parental rights is too emotional. I never stated that it was something that should not be taken lightly. I understand your public policy argument, but once...
-
I did not state that one could get out of child support by terminating. I stated that if one were to terminate, child support would cease. Even if it is rare to terminate, it is possible.
My posts...

Nya, I'm so glad to find someone who cites my same answer regarding termination of parental rights and child support. See austin82003 Question "Court Ordered Visitation."
See also kkross2016...

Goodkat, read the "AliciaHubbard" question regarding termination. Nya made a similar answer as me. Termination will terminate child support --future payments. Mary
P.S. I would assume then that...
-
Goodkat,
I wouldn't terminate though. Just hang in there and assert your visitation rights as a dad. There are a lot of ramifications that will affect your child if you do terminate.
Mary

GoodKat,
No offense meant to everyone on this thread, but you can terminate parental rights --voluntarily and not pay child support after that. I've done it myself IN TEXAS --. Terminating...

Gracias. Que le va bien. Maria

Just for being nice. Munchas Gracies mi amor.

Scott, statutes are argued for in court. That is where the facts, the lawyer and case law affect the outcome. I'm done arguing with you tonight. This thread is for Austin, not you.
-
GV70 thank you.
Scott, reread your posts on this thread. You just want to have the last word and interpretation on everything, and I do consider your demeanor on this site to be threatening and...
-
But Yes, a parent can address the court for a voluntary termination -- read the state law on that.
-
GV70, of course back child support would be noted. And of course parties would have to agree and the judge would decide. I did not state otherwise. Check my previous posts.
-
GV70, read my previous posts. Law provided. You are not the rude person that I was addressing and I apologize if I offended you. I meant to address my being bullied to a Scott person. Mary

Termination need not be followed by adoption, but adoption need be preceded by terminaton. Texas Family Code: (in Texas, however. One would need to check appropriate state jurisdiction.): Section...
-
We care about the quality of advice? Your quality of advice is arrogant and dismissive of those who disagree with you. You don't care about those on this site who genuinely want to help others, you...

ScottGem: Termination in Texas need not be accompanied by an adoption; Child support duties are relinquished:
Texas Family Code:
Section 161.005 Termination When Parent is Petitioner:... "if in...
-
"Sorry, but you have to answer"? I find your threats to be offensive. I will not cite any statutes for you or disclose the circumstances involving my termination of parental rights. You are not...
-
I don't have to answer to your that I was wrong about relinquishment. Who are you? I don't owe you any explanation for anything -- including an answer I had for someone else.
As far as this...

GV70 and ScottG,
The Stevens case is not similar, I believe to this one here. The Stevens case denotes summer visitation. Summer visitation schedules require written notification or default...

Great Kathy, God Bless you.

I had a comment by someone who noted that termination cannot cut out CS. It can. I've done it. Check the state and work with your attorney general. The US has what we call "common law" but each...

I disagree with GVT0:
Look under GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS in your order and check for
"Designation of Competent Adult -- Each conservator may designate any competent adult to pick up and...
-
You would have to prove fraud to get any money back.
-
Now, this is only my opinion not to be used as legal advice:
I'm not sure what the laws in your state are, but you would have to show that circumstances have changed i.e. your financial situation,...
-
You are so welcome, take care. Mary
-
I disagree with F Ch's answer. Check your court order. Most standard custody agreements provide for the ability to designate an adult. There is no way that a parent can always pick up a child,...
-
Rock Down,
So, honey, what is the custody agreement? Is he the primary conservator with sole custody?
Did you have an attorney at PA?
I would hire an attorney and seek joint custody. You...
-
No!!
You may designate a responsible adult to pick up your child.
But, if the child is in a daycare, you may have to show them the custody agreement (signed by a judge) and your right to...
-
Why don't you have joint custody? Why are you only allowed the visitation you cited? How was he able to take primary custody from you?
I don't understand how he could have taken the kids from...

Sorry if this answer is late, but I think you need to try to get him in your daughter's life. I too am a single mom of a daughter, 9, out of choice. A very difficult decision to make when she was 1...
-
Do you all have joint custody? Who is the primary conservator? I agree with the previous reply, you should not be depending on his money --even if it is the child support. You need to maintain your...

I've been a teacher since I was 19 (got my degree early), went to law school and went in and out of the profession since. (I'm a single mom anyway so I have more time with my daughter.) I can tell...

Reply to chihuahua owner about 12 weeks old. Well, guess what? I have a 14 week old that I used to do that with, and I started just seven days ago to train her to go potty outside exclusively. I...
