Right to the point. It looks like I have an old, old poured lead and oakum joint flange? The bolts on the flange rusted off and the "lip" around the pipe began to peel off when I was scraping the wax...

I have a problem matching up the drain pipe with the main drainage pipe. The pipes are about 5 1/2 inches apart and I can't find a trap that will fit. I have tried everything including flexible traps...

I set my new fiberglass tub into position to see how it would work and I am coming up about 1/2 short in the rear. I know I can place a shimmy behind it, but I was going to tile all around the tub....

Boy do I feel like a dummy, it took all of 30 seconds once I grabbed the end of the spout with a pair of pliers. A little scratched, but not too bad, and $11 is nothing compared to everything else....

OK, going now! Thanks, will let you know how it goes.

Ok, call me dumb, but you are saying to just twist it off? I have even tried a pipe wrench over a cloth, nothing. I would prefer to save the spout, it was replaced by a plumber a couple years ago.

The tub is fiberglass. I broke my back taking the old cast iron tub out, not putting another one of those in!

I am about ready to install my new tub. I was wondering the best way to do it. I have access to the trap and drain from the basement. Should I install the tub first, then match up the trap and drain?...

I have gutted my entire bathroom. I am planning on installing regular drywall except near the tub/shower where I will use backer board. Is this OK? I thought since the walls behind the vanity and...

I removed the nipple and connected a female pvc elbow to the pipe. Massplumber, thanks for the advice, I was at Home Depot and pulled up your email on my blackberry and knew exactly what to get, it...

Thanks to the advice on this board, I managed to remove the old trap and drain, but now I am having trouble finding a trap that will fit in the small space I have to work with. I am including...

Thanks for the advice. I used a sledge hammer to loosen it some, then used a plumbers wrench with a longer pipe over it for leverage and with a little elbow grease it came off! Now I just have to...

The leak was on the trap, you can almost see the epoxy to the left of the threaded nipple, towards the bottom of the pipe. It was rusted and had a few small holes.

I have an old pipe under my tub that I patched (reaching up from the basement after removing the ceiling) a couple years ago with epoxy. I am renovating my bathroom and have removed my tub and wanted...
