Clean the flame sensor with sand paper and then check it.
-
-
BigStew, try the same as I suggested to Charlie.
-
Mygirlsdad77: I got you covered bud! ;)
-
Way to jump in and help like that ramflash1! :)
-
It is unusual as the blower should kick on because if you are not passing air over the indoor coil you can cause damage to the compressor... the way it operates is it sends liquid inside the house...
-
If the A/C is working properly with the blower then the heat should also, the stat uses the same 24v transformer for the A/C as it does for the heat. Set your stat to call for heat and then observe...
-
Could be a board issue... has anyone serviced the unit lately that may have changed the dip switch setting for the blower delay?
-
I would leave them set at their default location being that those were not part of the initial board. Glad to hear you have heat and a job well done on your part! :)
-
I'm leaning toward a bad stat... remove it and jumper the red and white wire let it run for 15 minutes and then remove the jumper and let it cool down so it completely stops and then jumper it out...
-
More than likely if there isn't any gas being distibuted in the home...
-
Lol, actual age would be extremely hard to determine but an educated guess would be 35+ years old. My next concern with that furnace would be that it is distributing Carbon Monoxide to home if some...

You may have a dirty flame sensor. Remove it and clean it with some steel wool or fine grade sand paper.
-
Upload a picture going back to the terminals to your unit please. Heat Pumps are an entirely different breed, not as simple as a furnace and a/c. Thank you.
-
Just to clarify... Your outdoor unit is coming on before your furnace/air handler blower comes on?
-
Do you have a multimeter and do you know how to use it?
-
If you cannot find this, post the model number and we will do our best to help you.
-
You could try calling the manufacturer or going to their wensite.
-
Could you please post Brand and model? Thank you. Also do you have and do you know how to use a multimeter?
-
Your model number is inside the furnace... that happens to be the model number to the indoor coil that sits on top of the furnace for your A/C. Try this in the mean time... remove the stat --> jumper...
-
Gladto hear you got it figured out.
-
This is a Residential Carrier unit and Carrier regulates Residential meaning they only give information out to Carrier Dealers... I will look into this tomorrow through a friend and post back in the...
-
Brand and model of furnace please. Thank you.
-
So the ignitor doesn't glow is what I am gathering... if so, replace the board. There is an upgraded board for that part #, I believe it is White Rogers # 50E47-843
-
I would remove the thermostat and then jumper the red and white wires. That will call for heat as if the stat did it. I am willing to bet that you have a bad stat.
-
Is your only problem the light not being on with the furnace running properly or is the furnace not running properly and the light isn't on? Also, please list model of furnace. Thank you
-
Is this on first cycle or on a repeat cycle?
-
Brand and model of furnace please. Also the light is on the control board... how many flashes? Are they long and short or all short? Thank you
-
Yeah, I agree here. It will be cheaper to by a new window unit if that is the correct assumption... Can you post a brand and model for us so we know what we're dealing with? Thank you.
-
wmproop has a good start... also what state do you live in?
-
Yep, warranty repair work there friend.
-
-
Ok, you will have to replace it. You should be able to do a search and find one to be shipped to you or you can hire someone... glad we could be of assistance.
-
You could replace the pipe yourself with 3"... make sure you use schedule 40 DWV PVC pipe though. Send the contractor a certified letter stating he has 10 days to respond to you in writing his...
-
Also, sedement sometimes can build up on the elements preventing them from heating properly. I usually flush my customers who have instant systems every 2 years.
-
-
I can't seem to find a schematic on that furnace... nor can I find that particular furnace... are you sure you are reading the information panel from within the furnace and maybe not something else?
-
Well then yes that is incorrect. The vent size standard off that furnace is 3"... sometimes a tech will downsize at the furnace for approximately 3 or 4 feet and then go back to 3". Being that it was...
-
Putting a 14"x14" floor return in is highly out of the ordinary... Grills of that size can not hold the weight of an adult, even the reinforced ones. It creates a safety hazard and is not within...
-
Your welcome, was it the igniter or the board?
-
Maybe the heat loss ratio vs equipment truly called for the larger strips... an electrician is hardly qualified to do a Manual J rating on a home. May want to purchase a 60amp breaker... Good luck...
-
Sorry, I forgot to put in there you are removing wires / harness for the ignitor... getting late here, lol.
-
Set the meter to continuity and unplug the harness (or remove both wires) from board. Check to see if you have continuity and if you don't replace the ignitor. If you do then set the meter to voltage...
-
Is it 2" all the way to the outside or does it go from 2" and then transision into 3"?
-
You may want to take that stuff back... I just found this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Trane-CNT02536-50A61-605-Control-Circuit-Board-NEW-/370539440446
-
The instructions for the new board don't have the settings listed for your furnace? There should be a page dedicated to telling you how to set the dip switches...
-
You need to see if it is a normally closed or normally open pressure switch, labeled on the switch, and then use a meter to check for continuity. I would check before operation and after operation....
-
This is a control circuitry lockout code that means one of the following three: Flame Sensor failure, Gas Valve relay stuck open, and software check error. Turn the thermostat to off --> cut power to...
-
That is highly possible you would have to check the amp draw during operation. You could also have a restriction in the line... remove the line completely and blow it out, careful not to spit while...
-
No problem, that is what we are here for. ;)
