Update- It is fixed.
I had an IT geek friend look at it. Apprently there was a problem in the DNS registry. He cleaned it out and now it works grreat.

Ok, I removed IE7, have IE6 running now. Still have same problem with same web sites

The only option is to "remove" IE7. I don't see a repair button. I don't want to simply remove it as I can't connect to microsoft.com to download it again. I don't have any OS hard disks either....

Update- Had to drop the whole fan. Replaced the receiver. Both fan and light work now off the remote.

I don't think so. All I did was cut and re-connect the black wires and the white wires so it should not have made any difference.

From the way it went out something definitely fried. Not sure how it happened as I was very careful in cutting the wires and wire nutting them back together. But in any case...

Catalytic converter has nothing to do with the transmission going in gear.
Have you checked the transmission fluid level? What color is the transmission fluid? Does it smell burnt?
