Are you sure it's the right size? Put the belt on one side of the pulley and twist the pulley so it pulls the belt along. Just twist hard and you should get it on

IS this a riding mower? Just unplug fuel line from carb and empty out gas from the bowl. Some drops may spill but that's going to happen...
Well if it's a push mower you can try unplugging fuel...

Jump it directly to the starter and make sure all you disengage blade, press clutch etc

Is the starter at least cranking? Try jumpstarting by connecting the negative to battery and pos directly to the starter

On my b & s 11hp engine I hear a clicking noise when it is running I know it isn't the pulley or anything but it is coming from inside the engine/ anyone know why? How to fix it? Thanks

Locate the gas line connecting from carb to gas tank. Fuel filter should be there somewhere along the line.

there are usually batterires designed for lawn tractors just ask for them at a small engine shop. Right now mine is runnning on a jet-ski battery and works perfectly=)

Check belt and if pulleys are spinning then your trans pulley may not be set properly causing it to spin alone without moving the shaft, happened to me also
