Is the aux heat gas oil or electric,
Also is there an outdoor thermostat?

Did the installer explain the opperations and test all the functions?

If my memory serves me correctly,
That unit has a pilot assembly with a 3 wire connection, it heats a bimetal switch and also houses the spark ignitoe and grounding rod.

I think this is an eyes on situation

With the limited info provided

Sounds like someone with technical knowledge needs to see this unit .

Tracing the circuits and sequencer can get tricky if your not familiar with these units .


What is your skill level?

Connect one line to one load and the other 2 wires to the transformer.this will complete a circuit to the heater threw the t-stat

Always use caution when working on electrical circuits

Well disconnect everything and try one circuit at a time.

Having no 24 volt will cause the fan to run so that is normal. Check the ohms on the gas control and the rest of that circuit.

That seems to be a good part number still , make sure your getting 24 volts to the control, as lower voltages will cause the relays to chatter and fail.

First verify the gas pressure is normal
And then that the valve is in the on position,
If those are OK then I would suspect the gas
Control to be at fault

Look for a red light flashing and a list of what the flashes mean, search our faq for this info

First off I would run the fan continuously, restrict the returns on the first floor to make the ones on the second pull the heat into the system, and open a few supply ducts in the basement.

The connection from "Y" to Rc is what you need to run the fan in cooling mode.

Time to call the professionals

Roll out safety is probably OK see what is causing it to trip? Too much heat in the burner area?

Not enough combustion air? Lots to check... fix the problem, not just band aide it

Check the roll out switches and the draft safety, follow the wires from the gas control,

Also check that the gas is on .

Damper not opening when heat is called by the t-stat? Check the end switch on the damper for proper allignment.
