Hello,
Trying to determine the electrical load for a restaurant that I am designing. Can someone please point me to the NEC section to base load calculations from? Thanks in advance.
-
Wow! Okay, I've got some work to do, you pointed me in the right direction... thank you for that! Oh, we make pizza, fresh dough daily.

Thank you for the feedback. Let me qualify. I'm looking at this for a commercial application. We (2,900 stores) operate a 7.5hp 3 phase mixer up to 20 times per day. That initial electrical spike...

Yes, yes I did! Thanks all for the help. I used a 6" extension at the end of the shower head inlet and twisted... worked like a charm.

I have 1/2" rigid conduit, can I run 12 AWG through it for a length of about 6'? It will be a single cable pull, and it has one 90 degree bend.

You mentioned 3 sets of 3 way switches. If you are controlling one set of lights from 3 switches then you need two 3 way switches at the ends of the circuit and a 4 way switch in the middle.

Negative, I need 400 amps, so 2 panels, and the only "hallway" I have has 10" of free wall space. :(

Per NEC can an electrical panel be located inside a employees "coat room?" LA county requires a coat room, and I'm out of space to locate the panels. Any help is appreciated. Also, if you can...

No, I've seen many homes with a laundry station in a bathroom. Not ideal, but if that's what needs to be done it isn't totally crazy.
-
Tom,
Thanks for the reply. I'll take a look a this weekend and let you know how it goes.

Hi Tom,
The cold water and shower diverter leak from the stems. When the water is all off, water leaks from the spout.

Hi, I have a shower faucet that is constantly leaking. It is a Price Pfister three control system, (hot, cold, and shower diverter). The cold water handle leaks when it's on and the shower is off. ...

I'm definitely no expert, but I rewired my kitchen and I probably used 250' cable in that room alone. My panel of course was at the opposite corner of the basement (35'), but I think 1500' of cable...

Does the NEC allow for an electric panel to be placed inside a restroom in a commercial application? My assumption is no, but I know someone here will know for sure.

Whites to light fixture white, blacks to light fixture black, red wire will be the traveler between the two switches.
-
Yes, it's a fire hazard. #14 wire is only rated to handle 15 amps, 20 amps can cause the wire and insulation to overheat and subsequently melt.
-
Yes, change it. 20amp requires #12 wire.

You have to use internal clamps on the device box to secure the wire where it enters. No staples required.
-
You can buy foam gaskets at your local HD or Lowe's. It goes between the box and the cover to prevent drafts.
Edit: Here is a link to find them on the net. 10 cents per.

King, either way would work. You can go from outlet to outlet, or from a centralized junction box... I'd say choose the method that uses the least amount of cable.

For old work you don't need to secure the cable inside finished walls with staples. You can use internal cable clamps in the device boxes to secure the cable. However, where the framing is...
