I would give you a greenie but there's no place here so - applause.
The sad part is that Ryan has set his own cause back 100 years.

Oh, stick around my friend, stick around. He'll be back.
I find it ENORMOUSLY amusing that between NeedKarma, Wondergirl, excon, you and me we've posted (approximately) 92,800 times. Ryan has posted something like 15.
He's still wearing diapers where AMHD is concerned and he's managed to offend everyone, even the atheists!

The issue is that a real atheist would not offend, in fact they would find no reason even to address it. They do not believe there is a god but then would also not make fun of that god by calling them names to make other mad. A atheist would believe that all there is , there is, today is all , there is nothing else. And that you would not go out of your way to make fun of others. By making fun of others belief it is obvious that they are not a true atheist but are anti religious, there is a difference, a person does not have hatred for religion unless they have some religious belief.

Everybody would be less offended if we could get it through our heads that you cannot force somebody to a world view.
I'm Christian... I believe atheism is wrong. He's atheist and believes religious people are wrong. Doesn't mean we can't be civil to each other.
Very true that many religious people cross the boarder of civility when confronted with other views... but I know just as many atheists that flip out just as bad towards religion.

- And let me add that this "flip out" came in the middle of an otherwise civil conversation.
I suspect Ryan has issues which led to this thread, his girlfriend throwing him out, his Manager being angry with, having no place to go except his mother's house.

I guess that's where we differ. I don't care what religion you practice so I'm not going to say it's wrong.

I meant that only in the context of my personal beliefs. My Christianity it not something I am going to shove down someone's throat... it simply doesn't work like that... while I will have concern for those that don't believe as I do, in the end it's their choice. I'm not going to throw a fit about it nor does it offend me.

No need for me to defend anyone but when I had a true crisis in my life Hauntinghelper took time, a lot of timel, to respond to my questions in a compassionate, kind way with never one judgmental word.

I'm working on what qualifies a professed atheist to spend large chunks of time on the Islam Board. Note that "Ryan" didn't answer.
I also note to my vast amusement that Wondergirl (sorry to pick on you) doesn't find it necessary to use the username "WondergirlChristian." Ryan finds the need to "RyanAtheist."
I am changing mine to Judykayteelegalstuff.

Ah, well it's good to see you've kept the post alive... I guess we've all calmed down now.
And actually, I sorted things out with my girlfriend thank you very much :)
Anyway, that's much besides the point.
I did not make this convosation confrontational, I think you'll find that you guys changed the topic from "Why does atheism offend?"... to "This is what I believe and why".
It has spiralled into this purely because of my replies to wondergirl who basically tried to fob off a genuine question by using God, it was never my intention to discuss religion or God because you have no arguement.
Yeah now I'm being confrontational, you talk about me being un-educated?
{personal attacks removed}
I'd love it if one of you could actually argue a case for your position, since all this post was about, was literally discussing what makes people tick and why... I guess I've sussed it out; Because your wrong and don't want to admit it/ don't want it to be true.
Ryan.
P.S I am also an anti-theist... all religious dogma is unhealthy for society.

Just to make sure I reviewed the entire thread, and your comments here, especially the one I quoted are not accurate and way off base. I found that it was you in responded with antagonism. That you started attacking what other people believed simply because they explained what they believed.
I have also edited some of your comments because they are clear and direct violations of our rules.

I'm not sure which position you refer to. If you refer to the position that there is or is not a god, then I have not seen you argue that position either. The fact is, as I've mentioned, that there is no conclusive proof one way or the other. And the only one here I've seen unwilling to admit they were wrong is you.
And finally, because I believe your purpose in starting this thread was not a reasonable and civil discussion by as a launching pad for you to attack others I am closing the thread.

I don't want to start any kind of big debate here or offend anyone.
With that being said I grew up Christain, with both of my parents taking my younger brother and I to church every Sunday. As I got older, my dad started working weekends and it was out mother taking us.
After my parents...
