You DON'T - whoever is on the deed can ADD you; however, you can't do anything yourself.

Generally the owner will issue and register a quit claim deed deeding the property to you both as joint tenants.

There are several ways to add a person to the deed, but the owner of the property ( person or persons on the deed already) have to do it. So if you are married, you ask your spouse to have you added. IT can be as simple as taking it to a title company and having them do it.

There are "do it yourself" kits, and if you understand real estate they are not bad, but if you don't know anything about it, getting a professional is normally best
