Oh dear... I wouldn't want to tell you what to do... But in my humble opinion, it's great that you stayed away for a year... Sometimes space is good. However, if you started back communicating just be really careful that's all... Keep your head on always... You both were friends & SOMETIMES people change & realize their mistakes, just be really careful.
