I am wanting to buy a used 21 cubic all refrigerator but am having second thoughts as I touched the sides both on the left and right side is very hot to the touch is this normal?
All my other refrigerators are cold on both sides to the touch

They are supposed to be hot, but when the coils under it are really dirty the sides get very hot. Check the coils and if dirty that's not a good sign. It means it was not maintained very well. The hot gas line coming out of the compressor is routed around the sides of the refrigerator to prevent icing and to help cool the Freon. When it's dirty it's hotter than normal.
