    IBM Thinkpad
Couple questions... I have a PIII IBM thinkpad laptop. It turns on the lights turn on I can hear the HDD and cdrom running but no image comes on the screen. I am almost sure it is the motherboard. But some are talking about a video sub card. I am fairly new to laptops soooo is this just a fancy work for a video card? Everything on the laptop to me looks integrated. There is an s video connection on the side, could that be what the sub card is for? To my other question The model of laptop it is a ibm a22m thinkpad are there any other motherboards that will work in this model. I heard the a22p will?? Any help is appreciated.

Well, first of all, on this machine, there is a lower PC board that houses the video conections and the printer, serial and usb ports. As for compatibility, I am not sure, but I do know that there is very good support for IBM now through Lenovo. If you checked the FRU numbers you should be able to cross them up and check compatibility. Here is a link to your model page : Lenovo Support & downloads - ThinkPad A22m support

Thanks for your reply... I forgot I asked a question about the laptop. I purchased a new board and it is working fine now. I found you can use quite a few different boards with the laptop, I believe the a22p will work as well. I found a a22m for 40.00 so I cannot complain. Thanks again
