WHAT IS A GFI breaker and where can I find it in my house
My outdoor outlet with xmas light went out last night when it rained. They lights will work in my indoor outlets. I cannot find a labeled breaker in the breaker box. An earlier post mentioned a GFI breaker might be the issue. What is a GFI and where would I find it?

    Ace High
Ground Fault Interrupt (GFI) It's a special outlet that has a reset button on it. Check your outlet outside (or the outlet that you have the Xmas lights plugged into) to see if it has a push button on it and push it back on. It will "flip" when it has an electrical surge. Your bathrooms usually will have these type outlets. Hope this helps --- Ace

A GFI breaker will be easy to find in your panel, if there is one there. It will have a reset button on the front of the breaker, depending on the brand it may be white, red, or yellow. IThis is a button in addition to the breaker switch handle.

Otherwise, there can be a GFI outlet, anywhere, look in garages, crawlspace, an outlet at the panel, kitchens, any outdoor outlet, and like Ace mentions, any bathroom. Or anywhere else, the electrican installing may have found someplace he thought it was necessary.
