Kitchen sink relocation- Drain and vent question
    Hi,

I want to relocate the sink to the opposite wall. This is about 10' from the current location. Can I just extend the drain pipe under the floor from old to the new location ? I am not quite sure if there other code requirements. I think a slope of 1/4 per foot is one requirement.

    Thanks,
    Frank

    Hi Frank,

If you wish to keep this move in code you will have to vent the drain line. This can be done at the tee just before you stub out to pick up the sink. If local codes allow you may vent with a AAV,( see image) cheater vent instead of running a vent out the roof or to revent back to the old vent. Make the drain 2" with a 1/4" slope to the foot. Good luck, Tom
