What do you do when you are unemployed and behind on child support
I am currently unemployed but seeking work and I am behind with child support. I have been to court twice asking for a reduction because I am no longer $16 an hour and nothing was done putting me further behind. I need some serious help, please.

What were the reasons for rgeir denial of child support modifications? They usually work out some kind of deal even if you're in arrears.

What are you now? Work for $5.00. Keep busy is the answer.

There really is no answer The state has a forumla to figure support, and then to pay back support also. They can garnish up to 1/2 of the pay in most areas.

I would say you perhaps need to ask your lawyer why they did not reduce it, since it should be based on your current income. Unless you are expected to return to your other job in near future, or left your old job in order to pay less support
