Model 45A. 1/4 hp. Chain drive. Plugged in but not working at the switch or by remote. Light does not come on either. Is there anything I can check or do I need a technician?

It sounds like there is no power to the door opener. Check for tripped circuit breakers, fuses, etc. A voltmeter can be used to ensure power is available at the oulet. Also suspect the power cord that plus in to the outlet.
