Given a choice of living forever in perfect health on a paradise earth or living forever in heaven as a spirit, which would you choose?

That's an easy one... I chose eternal life in heaven a long time ago. ><>

I would choose to live forever in perfect health on paradise earth. I mean, if one is disease free that itself is heavenly. Our earth contains so many amazing features which none of us would have seen in its entirity. I believe we could enjoy life on earth with perfect health. Earth is something I am familiar with but heaven is something I have no idea about. My final answer is living forever in perfect health on paradise earth.

I would choose live forever in a beautiful paradise on earth.. Like the person who responded above, earth has a lot of features some of which we haven't yet discovered.. Besides I think we were meant to live on this beautiful planet why else would their be plants, ocean, water, animals and other things to entertain us-they must have been created for a reason..
What also make me believe that we were meant to live in a forever life paradise was Adan and Eve they started living in a paradise here on earth with forever life not in heaven.. God's purpose was for all men and women to live on earth that's why he created this paradise and place Adan and Eve and told them to produce many and to be fruitful (Genesis 1:28).. If his purpose was for us to live in heaven he wouldn't done earth..
Another bible text that makes me believe that we were meant to live on earth is
Psalms 37:11 which says the following: "But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace."
Apparently this will happen in the future and also death will disappear like Revelation 21:4 says: "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
There are much more texts that you can find in your own bible that shows that we were meant to live on this earth forever and this dream will come true for those who follow what the bible tells us like Jesus said in John 17:3 "This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ. Hasn't anyone ever watched the "Highlander" movies? :) Just because you'll live forever in perfect health, no one ever stated that your loved ones would... You could only lose so many people before it might begin to wear on you.
And then there is the further issue that all conditioned things are subject to the "law of diminishing returns." Anyone who has ever bought the expensive sports car is familiar with this principle. The novelty is bound to wear off sooner rather than later.
Take Heaven. Heaven is available here and now, perfect or not. :)

Since this isn't a choice that God gives us, and no one else could offer it, what would be the point in answering?

Although my first thought would be to live in perfect health on a paradise Earth like those above, I somehow think I would more enjoy being a spirit in heaven...

Although I guess I don't really have to be a spirit for God to call on me, I like the idea that as a spirit, God could call on me to go to the Earth on missions to help people - no matter the place or time... I could be helping some people stuck in a lion's den, or on a hijacked airliner, or on space colony Alpha 1... ;)

Certainly! God would delegate assignments to who knows what regions of his universe or universes, or even alternate dimensions if that is indeed the case. It definitely would be a great adventure. Me? I guess I am too earth-bound minded. So I'd choose the paradise earth option.

I would rather live forever in heaven, my mom is there and I want to be with her in paradise.

Since there is no choice in this - humans did not sign up for option A or option B, the question seems redundant. We all die - death is the great equalizer. Where we spend eternity is something we have a choice in. My choice is Heaven, hopefully the Lord will agree when that time comes.

Sure, a sports car can get tiresome to look at and to drive if one is out to get thrills from looking at it and driving it instead of simply using it for transportation. But thrills from collectible items isn't what paradise involves. A paradise earth would provide us with an infinity of goals for which to strive and with an infinite time to reach them.



For example, we would have an infinity of time to learn and perfect our technique on one musical instrument after another without the fear that any time we would be cut short in our quest for technical perfection. Learning how to play the piano like a concert virtuoso alone would involve perhaps one of our present lifetimes. But since there would be no hurry, we could learn at whatever pace we chose. This applies to all areas of human endeavors. So how on earth-[no pun intended] am I supposed to get bored?

I could be happy either way and would easily offer to be where most needed by God. Once I understood better how this all works, it became easier not to need or want for myself so much anymore.

I will have to tell you when I get there, OK? They say heaven is really really a great place. Earth, sometimes good, sometimes not so good. I have only found paradise on earth, several times by jumping out of a perfectly good airplane with just a parachute. So, I suppose if God told me I had wings- I wouldn't care. And then again, while holding my newborn child for the first time. Now that was heaven on earth. I suppose it depends on what experiences heaven has to offer. Because earth has been pretty good at times.

First, congratulations on the new addition to the family.
I have often considered skydiving at least once in my life just to say I did it. But for some reason I just can't get the image of parachute failure out of my mind and since I am a bit accident prone it makes me reconsider.


Heaven:

What most attracts me about heaven is seeing God face to face in all his almighty glory.
Being able to personally ask him about the many mysteries of the universe and knowing that he would be able to answer all my questions.

Of course, being a spirit, has its advantages. Travel to any corner of the universe either as an assignment or simply to explore-with God's permission of course. Helping those on earth to serve the him. And having the privilege of being a part of God's universal administration as he promised.

Heaven. It is beyond what we "think" beautiful is. It gives a whole new meaning to "beautiful". I would rather spend my time with Jesus. I also agree with shygrneyzs 100%.

well if we do make it to heaven, my understanding is that we will receive a glorified body. so we wont be living in heaven as a spirit. i do believe the bible talks about a new earth and a 1000 year reign on earth, though i am not sure what that really means.

I understand it to mean the restoration of Earth to pristine ecological condition and mankind living forever upon it in peace without sickness pain or death.


2 Peter 3:13

In view of this passage, and others, it appears that our choice has been made for us. We will live on this Earth until sometime after the Millennium, after which this Earth will be renovated or recreated, and then we will live on that Earth forever. To be in the presence of our God will be Heaven, no matter where located. We will not be spirit beings, we will have glorified bodies not subject to the laws of physics that we are acquainted with.

Its funny the people who choose heaven are only saying heaven for selfish reasons. They have no scriptual backing for what they are saying.
