Hi my name is katie. And I have had a sore throat that comes and goes all the time. I get white spots that come off and smell. But now it hurts in the middle of my throat and all the time, my ears hurt off and on. But then again ihave tmj so when my jaw hurts my ears hurt. Is my throat something to be worried about, it also feels like I have something stuck in my throat when I swallow

It sounds as though you may have Strep throat which is nothing to mess around with. You need to get into the doctor now.

Yes it is imperative that you always get sore throats checked out. If it is strep and left untreated it can lead to Rheumatic Fever which can cause heart damage, or other complications that can lead to kidney failure.

Please contact your doctor as soon as you read this.

You could have strep throat that keeps coming back because you are not taking medication.. Or it could be something worse like throat cancer, not to scare you but please go to the doctor and get checked out.

My mom has had ulcers and heartburns a lot and recently had some type of acid reflux surgery a while back. She said that she also got sore throats a lot from this and said that sore throats are bad and can cause cancer, God forbid and she was happy to get the surgery. This keeps food from coming up in her throat at night when she sleeps. This may be nothing that you have but I would definitely discuss it with your doctor. Also have you ever had your tunsils removed, sometimes swollen tunsils will cause a sore throat and over half of the us have to have there tunsils removed. Good Luck!
