Assistance for women trying to leave a marriage
I'm in an abusive marriage for 24 years. Financially I can't live on my own. I have two kids, I help in college on my own without support from my husband. One of the two kids is his, but he does not help me at all. I'm employed full time and go to school part time to do better for myself in hopes of getting a better job so that I can live and make it on my own, but I want out of this marriage asap.

You will need to look around in your area for organizations that can help you. Start with the phone book.

Are you still living under the same roof? Do you have freinds or family that can take you in so you can file for divorce?

You need to file for divorce and spousal/child support. If you are working full time you should be able to support yourself.

Look for local support groups for abused women.

Find a women's shelter near you as they have the knowledge and resources to give you both guidance and support as well as safety. Churches often can provide you with guidance. They run many charities and shelters.

    Good luck.

Do they still make those things? Why?

I agree, file for divorce, if you can afford the home, ask for it, if the children are under 18, ask for child support. If you have to move out, find a place you can afford and move.
