Have you tried a different keyboard ?

^ And are you trying it as a key combination or something? There also may be something lodged where you can't see.

Sorry I should have said it's a .advent ert 2250 laptop.

I was trying combination.FN+F4,laptop to tele.sorry

External USB keyboards can still be hooked up to a USB port. Answering my previous question would help me help you better.

Ah, sometimes there are bugs with whatever is being processed when you press fn keys. Same happens to me, no error message though.

Have you tried blowing slightly under the keys or another combo with the fn key?

I have cleaned it the fn key works with brightness and sound no problems

What are you trying to make it work with?

I have my laptop wired up to the tele.
Fn+f4 should let me see settings for laptop/tele.but it does not respond.tried everything I know ie:cleaning blowing on it,can you hellp

The function may be broken. Fortunately you can access the same settings by going to Start > Control Panel > Display > Settings.
