My Trane Unit is frozen over
My spouse is deployed and I put the filter in the wrong place. I placed it at the bottom of the unit where the vent is.

I found out that I put it in the wrong place by opening the unit door and opening another cover where I found the Frozen and Dirty Filter. I have turned off the unit because it is frozen. The pipes outside are frozen and when I attempted to remove the filter it was frozen inside of the unit as well. Any suggestions? I need help... I reside in San Antonio and it is very hot. Please advise

    Thank you,
    Natalie

First you are going to have to let the unit defrost. Then remove the old dirty filter. At that point your unit should run as designed. There are quicker ways to defrost the coil but that should be left to a professional since if done improperly it could damage the unit.

BTW make sure you put the filter back in the correct place.

Thank you husband from all of us here for what he is doing for our country.

I just spoke to my husband told him what happened and how I got my answer to fix the unit and he said to make sure I thank you all for him!

Thank you again and God bless,
