    Perito

Click START | RUN, enter "devmgmt.msc" and click "OK". Device Manager will come up. Look under "Sound, video and Game Controllers". Click the "+" next to it. Is anything under there?

If there is something there, it isn't completely uninstalled. You can try clicking on ACTION | SCAN FOR HARDWARE CHANGES and see if it tries to reinstall the sound. If it finds the hardware, select "Automatically install ..." and see if it won't find the driver that was in there before. If that doesn't work, write down what you see there. Right-click on everything and select "Uninstall". Then, try to scan for hardware changes again.

If that doesn't work, copy what you wrote down here and we'll see if we can help you locate a driver.

If you have a separate sound card, you should unplug the case of your computer and open it up. Locate the sound card (look for the connectors on the back of the computer). The brand of sound card and probably the model number will be silk-screened on the circuit board. Copy that and post here. We'll help you locate new drivers.
