Cleanest method of merging between tile & drywall/tile & tub
    Hi there guys,

I'm drywalling my tub enclosure, preparing for tile, and I've got two questions before I continue:

    1) In the past, I've simply placed the rockboard/drywall line about two inches below the terminating line of tile. Is this the best way to handle this? Do you simply bevel the grout on the edge of the tile against painted drywall or do you leave the top edge clean to keep the paint nice?

    2) Terminating the tile against the tub: Again in the past, I've run shims(spacers) to get the edge of the studs flush with the lip of the tub, then run rockboard to the tub. After tiling, just running a caulk between the tile and tub. This time, I don't have a fiberglass tub, but one of these new plastic tubs, and I'm afraid that the caulk won't adhere the same. Can I just finish the tile against the tub the same way I always have, or do I need to handle it a different way?

    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

What I do on the sheetrock and tile. Is I let the sheet rock come in a couple inches to where the tile while lap over onto the sheetrock, but I also use a bullnose piece to finish out the tile, this just leaves a better finish, I do not grout or caulk this joint, I just paint along the edge, there's no need to caulk the bullnose to the wall unless you want to.

As for the tile butting into the tub, yes id caulk it with 100% silicone white
