Replacement motor for Trane air handler
The motor in one of my 35-year old Trane air handlers recently
Blew. It looked quite old. I figured it would be easy to replace
It just by matching the specs. Unfortunately the new
Motor runs for 10-15 minutes, then it stops for 15 minutes,
Then it starts again. I suspect the thermal protection
Switch is triggering. The new motor is rated for 50C
Ambient, but the handler is designed so that the motor
Is in the air flow after the radiator (it doesn't seem
Such a great idea). I can't find any motors rated at
More than 50C ambient on the web (in fact most of
Them are rated 40C). What motors does Trane use and
    Where can I buy one?

    Thanks!
    Luigi

P.S. The motor in question is 3450rpm, 115V one phase
    48 frame 3/4HP.

Did not check thoroughly for your motor, but give this Johnstone site a try. They have many motors, including OEM for Trane units.
