Your not to old. It's great overall exercise. I also think to reach a decent level of competition is possible because I don't think it's as popular as many other competitive sports. Many of the fighters in the MMA for example do not really have a whole lot of experience. Many of them have only had a handful of fights.

Hi, in answer to your question. No, you are not to old and yes with dedication and effort it's possible for you to compete in thai kickboxing. Actually regards to what somebody else said muay thai is actually very popular but you still have a chance because it's up to you how much effort you put in to become a fighter. A lot off mma fighters are experienced in other martial arts. Most mma fighters start as kickboxers or other martials before they start mma. I'm 28 myself and have been doing kickboxing for over three years, I also do thai kickboxing and boxing. I hopefully have a full contact boxing fight in October, so as you see it's not late. It's not easy though, it takes a lot of hard work and many hours of training. Maybe try a taster session of it before you start paying for lessons to see if you like it. Make sure you try out a few places first to see which will be the best for you. Don't be afraid to ask them questions, like how many fighters do they have at there gym as some places are very money orientated and don't bother training fighters, they just want as many people through their do as possible. Those sort of places are usually mainly just for fitness. Make sure you go to someone who has the flare for training it's pupils into fighters. Goodluck, and with that I'll stop babbling on. If you have any more questions don't hesitate to ask me.
