Please suggest a very good email manager
    Hi,
We are trying to build a website and we have a email group of about 7000. We are trying to expand on that. Can anyone recommend a good email manager with subscribe/unsubscribe features, auto responder, etc and that can handle any number of emails.

I would prefer to buy the code and have it on my system instead of paying monthly for someone else to manage it.

Could you also tell me what features I should look for when shoping for an email manager?
    Thanks
    Srujan

I've waited to respond to this one as I don't use a mail app - so can't suggest one from personal experience.

But check with your host for what they recommend and/or offer with their Hosting as a place to start.

The most popular ones with customers of my Host are Horde and SquirrelMail.

If you can manage your own solution and have the time to
do it full time then there are some great choices.

If you can't keep up with a growing list and tasks to keep your
domain off the blacklists and spam lists I humbley suggest you
use Email Marketing Software, Email Newsletters and Autoresponders by
AWeber like most professionals do now.

I used to host my own list and it was over 100x the size of yours ;)

Managing a email list is child play.

Getting your emails delivered nowadays is very difficult.

Make sure you weigh your decision of hosting it yourself seriously.

Also people tend to signup to lists that are professionally hosted like from
    trusted providers like Aweber

Either way you'll be a better judge of what your time is actually worth.
Do you want to spend the time babysittting your mail delivery or
Do you want to spend it...

    Building your business :)

    Hope this helps.
