    Kitchen sink vent
I have moved my kitchen sink 7 feet from it's original position. My question is if it's all right to leave the sink roof vent where it is which is now 7 feet up stream from the sink. Thank you

In my area, 2" drain can be up to 60" away from vent. 1 1/2" drain up to 48" away from vent.

Proper way of doing it would be - of course - moving that drain closer. Or you may leave it the way it is and see if you have any problems with drainage. Also, you could install AAV vent midway between trap and vent.

I guess if you were going to be inspected you would have to either move the vent or install a AAV. But hey! We're talking 2 feet here. Does anyone really think that extra two feet will siphon the trap seal out. Comon! Give the guy a break. I'd let it stand at 7 feet and if that gave me a problemv I'd take Milos advice and install a AAV just downstream from the trap. Good luck, Tom
