So I took one 20mg adderall to help with a 12 hour drive back to school. I've got a pre-employment drug screening that includes urine and hair testing. I'm sure I'm clear for the urine test but I'm a little worried about the hair testing. I've only used adderall this once and it was 20mg quick release. What are my chances of passing the test?

The threshold for detecting adderall metabolites varies from test to test, but hair strand test generally have a 90 day threshold in which they screen for usage. It is likely that the adderall you took will show up on the test, as its metabolites are similar to amphetamines. Further testing will reveal that that metabolite is an adderall by-product and not from amphetamine use, but unless you can provide a prescription for the adderall, this may screen you out of the position you are looking for.

The way the lab I partner with does their hair testing adderall won't show up. I can explain but I don't know if you will understand. Since adderall won't show up in the screening process it would not go to confirmation for GC/MS testing so it would not show up. Now, here is where it gets tricky, if whom ever is requesting the test asks for the sample to be sent straight to GC/MS confirmation it could possible show up. For the most part very few of my customers ask for "straight to confirmation" testing so that is why I said it won't show up.
