I got caught smoking marijuanna at my college, and in order to stay here I had to sign up for drug screening through the health center. I had to fill out a form prior to the testing and it asked what drugs I have used in the past 6 months and I kid you not it had every drug and perscription drug for the choices. I said I just smoked marijuanna, because that's what they caught me with. However, does suboxone (bueprenorphine) show up on these hair follicle tests? Or mylan (diazepam) or valium like (benzos). I obviously didn't put I have done any of these in the past 6 months because then they would look for it. But I'm wondering if they will show up. At first I thought I would just get a few strands of hair cut out, but the nurse cut out chunks of my hair, at different angles on my head. Please help if your familiar with hair follicle testing! Depends on how wide of drug spectrum they run. Yes it can show all of them, if they include those in testing. It appears they did not do any criminal charges, and were going to be easy on you. they have the form, since that is often many things students use.

This was sorta a "get out of jail free" chance for you, to be honest, so if they saw them in the tests, and they were weak, they knew they were old.
So since you would not tell the truth, when they see the sample, you either lied or just used small amount.

They were going for a baseline. They were going to link the drugs they found to what you had said. What you checked on and off on the form wouldn't affect what they were testing for but the outcome of the test, when compared to the form, will affect how they treat you afterwards. The results from the tests are important, but the preception of you by the staff is also important. It could be the difference between "He's just done a little pot, who hasn't?" and "He said he only did pot but found opiates as well, he could be a problem that might cause us lawsuits. Best give him a "Dean's Vacation" for him to sort himself out and decide if he REALLY wants an education."

What they know at this point is that you smoke pot. What they will know is that you openly and deliberately lied to them and you actually have a long list of substances that you've abused. Whether they show up will depend on how much you did and how they interpret the results. I can almost certainly predict that hard times are approaching for you. It might be a good idea to come clean and stay clean. Might be hard but it would be best if you're serious about a college education.

Most of the hair testing I do is only for the main drugs of abuse know as the NIDA 5. It does not include bueprenorphine, diazepam or benzos. I would say they are going to only do the NIDA 5 which does include marijuana. The other drugs would be a specialty test and might cost more money than their willing to spend. When the collector cuts the hair they usually cut 90-120 strands. When I do a collection on women they gasp at the sound of 120 hairs being cut. I don't think I would worry about the other drugs.

If they asked for a range of drugs, there is no reason why they wouldn't be willing to bear the costs of testing for them, since they do have probable cause to verify there isn't a bigger problem than just what you were caught with. Especially if they have invested in you with benefits, or even a placement at their college.

They trusted you once, you failed. They have trusted you again IN WRITING this time. Will you fail again? Of course they will VERIFY your honesty. You may be fortunate if only failure to have the reduced levels of marijuana in subsequent tests from the initial one doesn't trigger a more extensive test.
