    Unfit parent
I need some information on how to prove a parent is unfit in court. I have been raising my grandchildren for the past two years and now need to protect them more from their father and stepmother.

Need all the information I can get. What is the critera that constitutes an unfit parent.

    Thank you

Generally a parent is deemed "unfit" if it can be demonstrated that they are a danger to the child's physical and/or emotional well-being.

Each state will have its own determination, and also to be honest each judge may have their own view point, With that said, you won't have much luck without an attorney, so get one. But I have seen a prostitute who drinks and uses drugs keep custody of her kids in some courts, since the kids were feed, clothed, sent to school and not in "danger"

So you gather all of the evidence that you can, it has to be in a form your court will allow and hire the best attorney you can.
