    Shower Head leaks
Here is an interesting problem. When I draw a bath for my children, water runs from the shower head. I have replaced the entire mechanism which distributes the water to the shower head and the bathtub spicate for the 3rd time.

I have tried removing the spicate so that only the pipe was connected so that I could be sure the spicate was not causing water to run up to the shower head. Still not luck; water still runs out of the shower head.

Is there a code of some sort that the hose running from the top of the shower mechanism up to the shower head has to be a certain width? The only thing I can determine is that somehow the hose running up to the shower head is possible too large and not creating enough pressure to keep water from running?

If anyone has any ideas, I would be extremely thankful.

    Hi Rob,

I'm assuming the diverter's in the spout and not the valve body.
Several things would cause your problem. (1) Too short a shower raiser, average length is 36 to 48 inches from the valve body ( did it ever work correctly?) and (2) too much house pressure, (what's yours?) or
    (3) a constriction in the line that feeds the spout. My money's on door number two. Regards, Tom
