    Evicting a Roommate
I co-signed a lease for my son. He lives in the property alone. I put down the first month and last month security deposit and paid the rent in July and August. It looks like I will end up paying September as well. The apartment is in Florida, I live in New Jersey. I don't know what to do, he has shut off his phone, I can't reach him. I sent him a letter today asking that he vacate the property if he doesn't come up with the rent for September. It's my understanding that he doesn't have to pay or vacate - can that be true??

You can't evict him. You are a tenant too. The landlord has to. You are both responsible for the lease to the landlord. How you work it out has nothing to do with the landlord.

    Sorry.
