Downloading Adobe with Windows Vista
I'm having a devil of a time with Adobe and my new computer with Windows Vista. I've seen all sorts of instructions on-line. I've done the run as administrator thing. I've tried running it as though it needed to go back to XP--and have successfully done that with a couple of other things. I turned off security settings. I've tried to download and restarted this computer two dozen or so times. I can't view pdf files. I can't view anything requiring flash player. Bits of many web pages are simply grey with the word "banner". I've successfully downloaded several other things. Gateway customer service leaves a lot to be desired. In fact, I don't think I've ever encountered more poorly trained customer service people (six and counting). I don't think I'm a complete dolt. I somehow successfully navigated DOS, transitioning to OS/2, then several other windows editions without ever having a difficulty that stymied me like this has. Does anyone have any thoughts before I toss it in the Detroit River and start over?
