I have several little iPod/MP3 players that just lack bass. It would be really handy to be able to put in a splitter (3.5mm) and send half the signal to a wee little subwoofer.

I have a few 2.1 systems with subwoofers that are fabulous, but a one foot square box does not always fit.

I would love to have a small (4-6" square) subwoofer with appropriate cut off that I could hook in and make that little player make balanced sound; does not need to be loud.

Any ideas of 1) a commercial product or 2) plans to make one?
