Job needs me to move out of state but on probation.
Ok, so I'm needed to move out of state VERY QUICKLY to another state for my job but I'm currently on probation here in AZ. My PO has said that it's possible to get the probation transferred, but that that process could take up to 6 months. I need this done in about 2 weeks. Are they are any options for me? I really don't want to lose my job. My PO is definitely on my side and will recommend it to the judge. She also stated that there may be a possibility of staying on probation here while still moving on some sort of supervised probation. Anyone with any help PLEASE reply. Thanks.

    Hello tex:

Couple things. You're going to need an attorney to get it done that quickly. Next; your employer knows (or should know) about your probation, so that might temper their need to have you go RIGHT NOW. Certainly, they shouldn't fire you because of this. Unless, of course, you didn't tell them, and that's a violation right there.

I spent some time in pink underwear my damnself.

I agree with excon, if your company knows about your probation (and they should) they should understand you can't just pick up and move. They should be helping you in getting the probation moved. If they step up, you should be able to fast track it.

Thanks for the info guys. One thing I've heard is the possibility of applying for the interstate compact transfer and then getting a travel permit to allow me to go work in another state while the paperwork is getting processed. Sounds like they're supposed to have an answer within 45 days of receipt of request. So if that's true, then my PO can allow me to go to the new state and work while this is getting taken care of right?

    Hello again, tex:

Yes. Get it in writing. If I recall correctly, they ARE in writing. When you're in the other state, pay a visit to the probation office. Introduce yourself. That'll go a long way toward greasing the skids.

I think you can do this.
