That's what my one work friend calls it, just as a joke. I asked her if she ever saw anything like it before, and that's what she said. But anyway... I have this "rash" on my left arm. I get it every year, in the beginning of spring, and it usually goes away around the middle of the summer. I've only been getting it for a few years. It doesn't have color to it (it's the same color as my skin). It isn't worth even trying to take a picture, because all you'll see is my arm. It's just a bunch of small bumps all over my left forearm. There's a couple on my right arm, but not anything like my left arm. It doesn't always itch. When it does itch, though, the bumps get bigger. Last night it looked like I had a bunch of goose bumps (or goose pimples) on my arm. Itched like heck. I tried going to my doctor before, but she said she couldn't see anything (even though other people can, even the nurses), so she can't treat me for anything. I was taking Claritin OTC for a couple of weeks earlier this year, after it had already showed up, and it didn't go away, or get better at all. Anybody have any clue what this could be? My mom thinks I need to see a skin specialist, but if it's some type of allergy, I really don't see that they could help. Any input would be most appreciated.

OMG not on the left arm, there is always amputation. Sounds like a seasonal allergy since you get it this time each year.

LOL. Oh no! Not amputation! LOL. I thought maybe it was an allergy, but shouldn't the Claritin have helped with that? I don't know. Do you think it's worth going back to my doctor? Or do you have any suggestions that I could use to help with it?

Why dither? Cut to the chase and go to a dermatologist to get all your questions answered (plus relief). I'm guessing allergy. If all else fails, at one of the Chicago hospitals, there are arm transplants every Thursday morning. They probably would be able to make a pretty good match to your other arm.

Shoot. My boss changed my day off from Thursday to Wednesday. Maybe I'll have to request off soon. Take a trip to Chicago. LOL Guess I'll call my dermatologist today.

YAY! Good thing too -- that Chicago hospital has only chimp arms this week. Who knows about next week...

I had gone to an allergist after I asked this question, and she told me it was heat rash , gave me a script for a moisturizing cream (which, by the way, did diddly for me) and sent me on my way. Recently I went to a doctor for a work injury, and when she saw it she told me that I need to get it checked out. I told her what the allergist said, and the doctor told me that she's never seen a heat rash that looks like that in her life. She thinks it's a sun allergy. I even found pictures at some point of a sun allergy that looks like my rash, although I'm not having luck finding them again. I'm getting it worse lately. My right arm, which I barely had the rash on when I originally asked this question, is as bad as my left arm. Sorry I can't be more help.

Hi, I have this exact rash. It started with my three young children having what I presume is Fifths Disease. My youngest started with cold symptoms, and slight fever, but great otherwise, then a couple of weeks later, broke out with the "slapped cheeks" with gradually moved down her whole body, with still no itching. The older children had the same illness and my husband and I had slight symptoms of tiredness and joint pain.

Then all the itching started! My oldest's arms broke out as did his face. Then my left arm broke out. Now, full circle, back to my youngest- small rash on left arm started at the inner elbow. I know this is an illness, based on the contagious factors in our family; however, I don't know if it is like the herpes virus and cold sores where it's just something that will stay with us and rear it's head every now and again.

We are still itching, but it is fading from my oldest's face.

Our treatment: essential oils! Not too much sunlight, which seems to exacerbate the problem. Peppermint oil has been great for me, my oldest complains, but "cold/hot" sensation is better than the intense itching. Then follow with something soothing, like lavender, which helps heal the damaged skin (mainly from the kids, since they can't control the itching like I can). We have used many others as well, if anyone is interested.

The "hot" ones, like thyme, are great for me, but not my kids. They can't handle the "burn".

Oh, we only use Young Living Essential Oils, so we ingest them as well, but I wouldn't recommend ingesting any other brand of essential oil.

I hope this enlightens someone, anyone with the same symptoms.
