    Question on shots
I am giving away one of my dogs. Her name is skippy. This dog just showed up on our farm as a stray, and I am not longer able to take care of her, due to being in college and about 3 hrs away. I have had her for a few years, but have not kept her up on her shots. Now the family that I am going to give her to wants me to get all of them done. I cannot afford to do because I just lost my husky last night and had almost 2000 worth of vet bills to pay today. So I was wondering what shots does she REALLY need to get?? I know they should get the distemper and rabies... but how necissary is the distemper?

Canine Distemper, Parvovirus, Hepatitis, Rabies, these are the most important shots to get, If they want her and are going to care for her they should take her any way, and you would think with what you have just delt with they would be willing to help you. It would almost be easier to place the dog in a no kill shelter, you would have to pay less to do this, and the dog would stay there until adopted, not that I like shelters, I rescue from them all the time, but I do more rescue from the kill shelters, because I feel pet should not have to die because we no longer want them, if you place you dog in a shelter make sure it is a no kill shelter, it is a must. Also try this link, it is on core and none core shots, (O: http://www.peteducation.com/article....&articleid=950 I hope that it is helpful to you, and I am sorry to hear about the passing of your dog, good luck finding a home for this one.

    Hi,
Of all those mentioned, the rabies shot is the single most important. If the dog is bitten by a rabid animal, she can pass it along to a human.
I would get the rabies shot, then tell the person who wants to adopt her,
    That she needs more shots.
If this particular party doesn't want her then, I am sure there are others who do.
    Best of luck.
